Our Secretary Sam is keen to help students in the Chelmsford
area with Citizenship Assignment Projects including valuable work experience.
An opportunity not to be missed for those looking to further their careers in
the Public Sector! We can also accommodate Millennium Volunteers and Duke
of Edinburgh Volunteers
Volunteer Opportunities
If you can spare some time on a regular basis even if its a
couple of hours every other week, then Sam would
love to hear from you, full induction training will be provided and volunteers
will always be working in part of a team. All expenses including mileage paid
(at 40p per mile). Our volunteers always receive FREE tickets/admission to
our events that they help at! Due to vulnerability
of the children and adults CRB (Criminal Record Bureau) checks will
be required, which we can arrange free of charge through Royal Mencap on your behalf.

Adult Adventurers Club
We urgently require volunteers to chaperone and befriend members aged 19+
years on our various outings and days at Chelmsford College under the guidance
of the Club Leader. |

CMYC
We require people to help at this club on a weekly
(Tuesday's) basis between the hours of 6.15pm-8.45/9pm. Volunteers must
be a minimum of 13 years old, there is no upper age limit. Duties to
involve assisting the Club Leader in the weekly running of the
club, ensuring the young adults at the club receive a very high standard of care and
work as part of a team under the Chelmsford Mencap umbrella.

We require people to help at this club on a weekly

be a minimum of 13 years old, there is no upper age limit. Duties to
involve assisting the Club Manager and Play Leader in the weekly running of the
club, ensuring children within the club receive a very high standard of care and
work as part of a team under the Chelmsford Mencap umbrella.

The Gateway Club is for people aged over 16
years. They enjoy many activities such as bingo, discos, darts, magic
shows, line dancing, drawing or
just chatting with friends. Around 40 members attend this club each week.
If you can spare a couple of hours every other week between 7pm-9pm then we'd
love to hear form you.

Volunteers are needed to befriend a
child or young person and help them have a great time. Experience of
working with children with disabilities is not essential. However, volunteers
will need patience, enthusiasm and a sunny disposition as well as the
willingness to work as part of a team. Ideal opportunity for students during the long holiday breaks. Duties to involve assisting the Coordinator
and Play Leader in the running of the scheme, ensuring children receive a very
high standard of care and work as part of a team under the Chelmsford Mencap
umbrella.

Chelmsford Mencap
Chelmsford Mencap regularly organise outings and events
throughout the year all of which require volunteer assistance in the form of
chaperoning learning disability members and assisting the Secretary in ensuring
the days events run smoothly. Other general flexible volunteering
assistance is available such as administration duties, promotional work and
street collections
